Clarent is one of the legendary Ethereal Blades and has been wielded by many warriors across the ages. The sword's blade is forged from stone and seems to occasionally crackle with deep red energy in combat scenarios, burning the target with it's slices. Clarent's powers are largely unknown, although the blade has been seen to heavily increase the wielder's strength, accuracy, and skill in battle. The weapon was described by King Hillingham as being able to "turn the tide of the Great War".

History

Clarent is believed to be a weapon forged in the distant past. Not much is known about it's origin and creation, and was eventually lost to time.

The sword was rediscovered in 1570 AW in Dalgenen by members of Project Oversight, and was recovered by The Lightbringers for King Hillingham.

Wielders

Clarent has been wielded by many swordsmen and soldiers across the millennia. In more recent times, Clarent was wielded by Count Strahd Von Zarovich to slay the ancient silver dragon Argynvost and his knights.

Clarent was wielded by Caedric Vindae in a battle against Grakos in Castle Ravenloft. The blade enabled him to strike the Elzahaar assassin, occasionally breaking through his master defense.

Clarent is currently being wielded by High Paladin Seryss in the Lawful Force of Anaar
