Years after the first time Cathexis started training Amon had passed, having reached the age of 23, Amon set out to join The Red Crusade, The main purpose of the army was to protect the Sultan, however they have always been in conflict with the Army from the Plane of earth, the conflict that dates back to the titanian era, where the Current reigning sultan, was a fanatical supporter of Akraman being promised the lands of the realm of earth for his dynasty, on the opposite side, the King of the Earth plane, sided with Akrateir, the conflict on the martial plane long ended, but in the elemental planes it still wages on. Amon searched out a Captain of the Army, an Efreeti by the name of “Yezu the Elegant” and requested to join the ranks of the army, The Efreeti simply laughed at him and told him to come to the next training session in the courts of the palace, if he could hold his own against others he would be allowed a place in the ranks. In the courtyard Amon joined the training session with the glaive he received from Cathexis, as a gift to show his training was complete, he was set fight against an old genasi, the experience of the elder man proved to be a difficult opponent versus the speed and strength of the Younger Amon, the duel was fought to a standstill, for Yezu, who was watching this spar lightly, this was enough to offer Amon a place among his Battalion “The Elegant Flames” in the Crusade.

A few years passed by in the army for Amon, being sent out to defend the city from possible threats on numerous occasions, At first he was blown away by the vast desert of embers and lava outside the city, however the longer he stayed within the Crusade the more repetitive this sight became, Amon wanted to explore more, he wanted to see more, a new dream was born. On the night of his 28th birthday Amon was summoned to Yezu, he was drafted along with four others members of Yezu’s Battalion to go on a scouting mission towards the Fountains of Creation, having heard reports of Earth elementals and genasi’ from the Earthen kings army coming to invade the lands of fire. The next morning a two weeks long travel towards the southern borders of the realm began, the trip was not eventful at all, until close to the mountains the group of scouts got overwhelmed by a Sandstorm, this caused Amon to split from the group and seek shelter inside a cave of the mountains that made up the Fountains of Creation. It was inside this mountain, that Amon would receive a gift, inside this mountain there was a small nest containing a single egg, not knowing what the egg was but feeling a strong connection to it Amon decided to wait and protect the egg until its owner returned, going against his orders and not returning with his fellow scouts. Amon remained in the cave for a weeks time, having protected the egg from small earth elementals and near the end of the week, a green dragon wyrmling, however, his supplies started to run low and soon he would be forced to return to the brass city to face his punishment for disobedience.

Two more days passed and Amon had to leave, just as he had packed up his belongings, the egg cracked and a screech was heard in the distance, Wanting to state his curiosity Amon came closer to the egg to see what could possibly hatch, in a matter of minutes it was clear that this was an Egg of a Phoenix, a rumored mythical being in the City. Staying close to the Newborn Phoenix, an immense heat radiated into Amon, at the entrance of the cave was the owner of the Egg, a giant Phoenix was hovering just outside the entrance of the cave. Fearing his end has come Amon walked outside and Embraced the end, as the Phoenix was about to strike Amon, its hatchling walked out of the save and stood besides Amon, causing the Giant phoenix to stop its attack, a beautiful voice entered Amons head, and spoke to him.

After his encounter with the phoenix and being released for protecting the phoenix' young, infront of Amons feet, a feather inside a golden amulet on a chain appeared, reaching for it, it radiated warmth, Amon picked it up, and hung the amulet arround his neck, once he did, he felt immense heat course through his body, like a connection with the fire he never had, his arms exploded with flames, as if changing his body, his arms had become like wings of the phoenix, but made of pure fire, he tested them out, and indeed they could allow him to fly. Giving one last glance back towards the Phoenix and its hatchling, he set off back towards the City of Brass in the far distance, ready to face his punishment.
