{{Infobox City|full name=Asgard|currentleader= Allfather Odin Borson |plane=Ysgard|continent=|region=First Layer Of Ysgard|population=~ 50 thousand|races=Titans, Aesir |affiliations= Nidavellir|image=Asgard.png|caption=The City of Asgard surrounded by the bifrost.|poi=The Great Vallhall Palace, Himinbjorg, The Bifrost Portal. }}{{Quote|speaker=Thor Odinson, The Banished|quote="A warzone and dictatorship dipped in gold, Odin's legacy."}}The realm of Asgard was the largest and most well-known of the divine realms of the first layer of Ysgard and the home of the Norse pantheon. ==Appearance== It is a flat, asteroid-like mass that has a top surface with a gravitational pull, similar to that of Allion, in order to keep the citizens and their cities from floating into the void. The Bifrost is a vast, cosmic, rainbow ocean that spreads all around Asgard. A narrow river comes off the ocean, extending to a large waterfall that while flowing upwards, extends infinitely, going through the clouds of Asgard. Once you sail or fly through the waterfall, you arrive on The Branches of Yggdrasil. Asgard is a grand city, with a glowing rainbow river running through the center. It is a collection of elaborate buildings and intricate spires. Seemingly built into the rock, large structures with sweeping terraces top many of the cliffs; gleaming pyramids, statues, and columns surround Odin's palace - Valhall, a many tiered structure composed of towers and arches creating the shape of a huge mismatched castle yet symmetrical, with floating fortresses surrounding the peaks of the Palace. Large cages sit at the top of 7 towers around the border of the palace, containing Odins Valkyries. ===The Bifrost=== The Bifrost is a large cosmic rainbow ocean that spreads all around Ysgard. A narrow river comes off the ocean, extending to a large waterfall that while flowing upwards, extends upwards infinitely, going through the clouds of Asgard. Once you sail or fly through the waterfall, you arrive on The Branches of Yggdrasil. The Branches of Yggdrasil are cosmic rainbow rivers that flow and connect to different levels of Ysgard and different planes. If you are to fall off one of the Branches, you are plunged into the astral plane. A Bifrost portal opening on a plane is a spectacle. A 100ft diameter portal would open in the sky of the plane, its rim flashing in a fantastical spectacle of various colors. Lightning of all colours would strike the ground below the portal, forming the sigil of Ysgard, before a large cascade of intangible rainbow water would fall from the portal. The ground would briefly shake before the spectacle would disappear with a clap of thunder, leaving on the ground the users of the Bifrost, and the vehicle, if any, used to cross it. ==Yggdrasil== Those with truesight can see the Branches of Yggdrasil for what they truly are. They are extremely large, cosmic, glowing and twisting branches of a silverbark tree. Its leaves were blue-black and oval shaped and its rough bark resembled flaking gray clay. It was made of a type of divine wood that was immune to fire. Spiraling along the main trunk, planks and sets of steps were carved or mounted onto the tree to facilitate traffic. The tree was surrounded by a cosmic scene of stars and planets in all directions. Gravity is not constant along the tree. So even those with Truesight might have trouble climbing the trunk, which is usually invisible to most. Throughout most of the trajectory, the gravity pointed towards the center of the tree's trunk, but it slowly changed to match its destination plane as one approached a portal. The tree was surrounded in a shimmering field that acted as a protection from forces that dwelled deep in the Astral plane. Growing among the leaves of Yggdrasil you can find new-born stars, which if grabbed, functions like an Ioun stone, floating around the user, emitting sunlight. These stars hold onto their magic for up to 30 days after being picked from the tree. The leaves of the tree can be used to brew a tea that starts and accelerates the healing of lost limbs or deep wounds. Travelling via the Bifrost means you travel along the branches of Yggdrasil, resulting in faster planar travel, guaranteed planar travel, and safer planar travel due to Yggdrasils protective nature.
