Description

Appearance

Koco is an elf of athletic build who sports a close-cut head of blonde hair and has light eyes. He has a height of six foot 3 inches and a weight of just over 170 pounds. Koco dresses plainly in browns, greys and whites, leaving his arms exposed and legs unbounded by flowing cloth for greater mobility. Taught to live simply and disregard earthly possessions, he wears very little if anything in the way of jewelry.

Personality

Koco is someone who will look for any possible peaceful solution before resorting to violence. That is not to say he is a pacifist, as if he considers something to a threat to his students or his friends or himself he will not hesitate to take action against it. Koco considers those who do not have a trade or do not work with their hands to be lazy, with the exception of royalty who he holds immense respect for.

Background

Birth and childhood

Koco Ringer is an elf born in a fishing village located in the Otreon continent. He was sent to a monastery to be educated as a boy, as is common for children that do not directly inherit their parents trade. While there he learned about the wider world and its history, along with ship building as this monastery often sent its members out to assist communities across Otrean, and there is always a ship in need of repair. After growing up, Koco decided to continue to live life as a monk in the monastery.

              The former head of the monastery, a half elf named Shion, became like a second father to Koco in this time. However, one stormy night while Shion and Koco were assisting villagers at the western edge of Otreon, Shion disappeared, never to be seen again.

Encounter with Kraken

              After this, Koco returned home and eventually became the head of his monastery. Several decades passed and Koco let all hopes of finding Shion disappear until one night, while visiting that same village, his ship is brutally broken into scraps by the Kraken, which disappears down into a portal in the sea.

              Koco barely survives this encounter, and appears crazed when he attempts to explain what happened to him. He decides that the Kraken must have killed Shion, and that is he wants to avenge his former master he must travel the world and grow stronger, so that he may one day kill the Kraken.

Relationships

B'hrian Bronzeblood

Koco considers B'hrian to be a strong and powerful warrior despite his shrimpy stature. He also believes that he may hold a similarly peaceful disposition, due to his initial hesitance to harm the lizardfolk.

Mellis Doornknapp

Koco thinks Mellis is a master craftsman, but seemingly not all there upstairs.

Valna Aloro

Valna's propensity to violence worries Koco, but her magic ability is nonetheless impressive to him.
